A simple foresight will help in the longer run. When you inform your employees about that pay raise, keep in mind if they are probably jumping tax brackets, inform them about that too. Ensure they are clear about what exactly they are getting and don’t hide things behind% rises.
The tax brackets and difference in salary are the last thing on an employee’s mind when they hear about salary change. Dont make them work that out in 2-3 days’ time and then get salty. Be upfront and honest about these things and employee’s will appreciate it.
